The Heldentenor voice is much misunderstood. Think Lauritz Melchior, as opposed to say Italian Dramatic tenors such as Corelli. Heldentenors are rare voices and because of the dark colouring are usually mis-placed as heavy dramatic tenor or tenor-baritone. But these are incorrect. I will be covering the differences in colour and balance between voices, and their uses.
